ECTOMYCORRHIZAE
PRESENTATION
✤ Ectomycorrhizae (or external mycorrhizae) concern only 5% of ground vascular plants, mainly trees
(Fagacae, Pinacae, Betulacae) of moderate and boreal forests
✤ These mycorrhizae don't penetrate inside the plant cells, but surround roots, forming a mycelium coat and
a network (Hartig network) between the walls of the peripheral cortical cells of the root.
